Igor Khayet
Igor was born in Gomel, Belarus and, through HIAS’ assistance, found himself growing up in the land of Oz. Since then, his adventures have taken him to Washington, DC and New Haven, CT (to learn), and New York, Boston, Kansas City, and San Francisco (to work). He currently is tackling the problem of terrible résumés, cover letters, and interviewing skills that plague undergraduate and graduate school students.
In his free time he enjoys rerouting his mail due to his frequent moves, trying not to embarrass himself on the salsa dance floor, and assisting the HIAS scholarship program. In 2006, he helped develop a Chess Tutoring Program in conjunction with HIAS and the Shalom Education Center in Rockville, MD.
