Michelle Wachtel

Michelle Wachtel became involved with HIAS Young Leaders in 2008; she is the former Fundraising Chair for the DC Chapter.

Under Michelle's leadership, HIAS Young Leaders DC put on a successful fundraising and trivia event in March 2010 to benefit Central American immigrants in DC studying for their U.S. Citizenship exams. Last year, Michelle led the group in successfully raising enough money to fund a 2009 HIAS Scholarship for an immigrant in Israel through the Chill & Grill Annual Rooftop BBQ.

Michelle is the Education Programs Manager at the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
