Nathaniel Berman

Nathaniel BermanNathaniel Berman has become increasingly involved with HIAS Young Leaders DC since 2007 and currently serves as the Community Service Chair of the HIAS Young Leaders DC Steering Committee.

Nathaniel is originally from New York. He attended Cornell University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations in 2002 and his Master of Public Administration degree in 2003. He then attended St. John's University School of Law, obtaining his J.D. in 2006. He currently is an attorney at the United States Department of Labor in Washington, DC, where he has worked since November 2006.

In addition to his work with HIAS Young Leaders DC, Nathaniel has volunteered with Jews United for Justice, focusing particularly on the Day Laborer Justice campaign, which addresses the prevalence of wage theft in the D.C. area.

Nathaniel is a participant in the October 2010 Mission to Austria, Ukraine, and Israel with members of the HIAS Board of Directors, and he looks forward to sharing his observations of HIAS' operations in these countries.
